Owono: days since De Miguel's death have been 'hardest of my life'

FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesus Owono has spoken publicly for the first time since the on-pitch collision that led to the death of Tenerife striker Jesus de Miguel, saying the days since have been the hardest of his life. In a statement released by his club, Owono said he struggles to find words for what happened and feels enormous pain for De Miguel, his family and everyone who loved him. De Miguel, 30, died on Tuesday after colliding with Owono, who had raced out of goal to clear the ball, during Monday's Spanish second-division match. Owono was sent off in the incident. Spanish police have opened a routine investigation, though prosecutors say criminal proceedings are unlikely, and Tenerife has declared six days of mourning.
