Microsoft says Windows 11 now runs better on 8GB PCs

Microsoft says Windows 11 now runs better on PCs with only 8GB of memory, after improvements to speed and memory management in the latest 26H2 build. It says the system can keep up to 2GB more active data in memory instead of moving it to slower storage, with everyday tasks up to 20% more responsive and multitasking up to 40% faster in its own tests. Widgets on 8GB PCs now load only when opened, freeing about 200MB.
