A Pakistani anti-terrorism court has sentenced human rights lawyers Imaan Mazari and her husband Hadi Ali Chattha to 10 years in prison each. The case arose from an alleged security breach during England's cricket tour of Pakistan in 2024, when prosecutors said the couple removed road barriers and obstructed police in Islamabad, charges both denied. Rights groups including Amnesty International condemned the verdict, and defence lawyers said they would appeal. The couple had earlier sentences in a social media case suspended by the Supreme Court before being re-arrested.
