Former Xbox COO Helen Chiang speaks out after shock Microsoft exit

Former Xbox chief operating officer Helen Chiang has spoken out about her sudden departure from Microsoft, saying reports that she was fired for a policy violation are not accurate. Chiang, a 21-year Microsoft veteran who previously led Minecraft and became Xbox's first COO in July, said in a LinkedIn post that speculation around her exit had created a picture of her that she hardly recognises. She denied leaking confidential information, leaving to join a competitor, or engaging in discrimination, bullying or other misconduct, and said her silence should not be mistaken for agreement. Microsoft has not commented on her statement beyond treating it as a personnel matter.
