Ronaldo tops Forbes highest-paid footballers list again, Messi second

Cristiano Ronaldo has topped Forbes' list of the world's highest-paid footballers for a fourth year in a row, earning about $300 million for 2026-27, more than twice Lionel Messi's $145 million in second place. Ronaldo's on-field pay from Al Nassr makes up most of his total, while Messi earns more off the field than on it. Forbes also reports Ronaldo has become the first active athlete to pass $2 billion in career earnings, with Messi expected to join him within a year.
