iPhone Duo vs 18 Pro Max: testers say buy the Pro Max unless you want a tablet too

iPhone Duo vs 18 Pro Max: testers say buy the Pro Max unless you want a tablet too

Key points

  • After testing both of Apple's newest phones, reviewers say most buyers should pick the iPhone 18 Pro Max over the folding iPhone Duo.
  • The Duo, priced at 1,999 dollars for 256GB against 1,299 dollars for the Pro Max, opens into a 7.6-inch mini-tablet and is praised as the best-designed foldable yet, but it lacks a telephoto camera and Face ID, and lasted 13 hours 20 minutes in Tom's Guide battery testing against 17 hours 31 minutes for the Pro Max.
  • The verdict is simple: buy the Duo only if you want a phone and a small tablet in one device, and are willing to pay 700 dollars extra for it.
